Like, legit. These are the two BIGGEST offenders I keep seeing in horse art. Either not enough joints, or way too many joints! Or somehow doing both of those things at the same time and looking REALLY broken, as seen in the excerpt of the cover and first page illustration of the kids’ book, The 123’s of D&D.
Bubble Haunch has been a named drawing issue since early in the MLP fandom. Broken Cannon is one that’s been around probably just as long but I’ve never seen named. And I’ve certainly never seen any guides call it out. So I’m griping about it now!
The root of both issues is superficial knowledge of a horse’s leg(s). Not knowing where any of the joints really are, only vaguely how the leg is shaped. And that’s damned criminal. There is absolutely NO excuse for this. If an artist has internet access, they have access to literally millions of pictures of horses, diagrams of horse anatomy, and guides from other artists simplifying aforementioned anatomy!

Vampire for a Day: Halo Imagine, if you will, being the alicorn that guides the dearly departed on their way, but also requiring the life of the living to retain your own powers. Knowing whose life is ticking to its end, because you will become their Reaper before you are their Guide. What a great and terrible -and conflicted- balance of power.

Its spooky month so what a better time to dress Flint up in some otherworldly attire from two of my fave games. And he can pull the looks off pretty well I think.
Got the Dawnguard armor from Skyrim, kinda fitting for the pirate hunter to be in vampire hunter armor, and Edward Kenway’s pirate-y assassin outfit from AC4 because of course there’s gonna be something pirate-y. And Flint is honorary pirate anyways lol. Fun fact if not for AC4 I probably wouldn’t have started my pirate horse AU.
